SashiCo Jacket – #001A

*All Sashiko is done by hand. Tailoring is done by sewing machines manually. We do not have any assembly lines.

*This jacket is “one-of-a-kind” product. It is impossible to make the “exact-same” Jacket. Jackets with the similar design and color might be produced depending on KOFU (old fabric) availability in Japanese antique market.

*Please read 「Policy, Agreement, and Favors」before your order or inquiry.

*The size of our model (Keiko) as well as actual jacket size are described below on this page. Fees for the size adjustment is included to the listed price. It will be difficult to adjust this jacket bigger because of fabrics we have left. Please contact us so we can check its availability.

*Our Brand Tag is ready. Once the jacket is adjusted as you would like, the jacket can be yours.

【MODEL】:SashiCo Jacket #001A

【NAME】:Stand Kasuri  Jacket / Mill-Stone Design Collection

【MATERIAL】: Cotton 100% (Kofu – old fabric)

* She used "Kasuri" antique (old) fabric for this jacket. Kasuri fabric has the systematic pattern on it (dyed systematically). I was wondering why Keiko put the irregular pattern (Millstone design pattern) on well-regulated dyed fabric.

"Why do you use Millstone pattern? Why do you need the curve stitching rather than straight line stitching?"

I thought the straight line stitching would be the best match for the Kasuri fabric.

According to her comments, this jacket represents one of her challenge to Sashiko designing and pattering.

  • Millstone design pattern
  • Regular and systematic pattern on Kasuri fabric
  • Various color of Sashiko thread

She is trying to express the image of three-dimensional depth on fabric. I respect her for trying new idea and concept. She respects all the other Japanese traditional patterns as well. She has a jacket for that. At the same time, I believe her challenge for the possibility of Sashiko would open up the new field for Sashiko.

* There is other jackets with the same concept.
